Who We Are

Pastor Dan and Angela Loaiza, along with their son Samuel, have been called to establish a church in the city of Stirling, as well as future ministries within the Highlands and the Islands of Scotland.

Dan has been a Christian since the age of 15, in the summer of 1980. He came to know Jesus at Calvary Chapel in Downey, California. As a young man, there were some struggles with following Jesus, but in 1986, Dan recommitted his life to Jesus and began a life of total service to Him. Angela also gave her life to Christ in 1980, through the ministry of a Baptist church in Wishaw, Scotland, as a teenager. Her path quickly led her to Calvary Motherwell, where she began to grow in her faith. Soon she left for Edinburgh University, where she graduated, and lived in Edinburgh for the next 6 years.

In 1989, Dan was led to go on a short-term mission trip to, of all places, Motherwell, Scotland. It is there where he met Angela, who had returned from living in Edinburgh. Dan fell in love with Scotland, and with Angela as well. They were married in January, 1990, near Motherwell. They felt God leading them back to the U.S. Their time in California was brief. God soon called them to Houston, Texas. It is there that Dan and Angela were discipled and trained for ministry. It is also there that their two children were born, Sophia in 1994, and Samuel in 1998.

Dan was ordained March of 1997 through Calvary Houston and served as an assistant pastor to Calvary Houston for over 20 years in various capacities, including worship director, men’s ministry leader, pastoral counseling, and most recently establishing and directing the Calvary Houston School of Ministry. Angela served faithfully for many years as women’s ministry administrator and manager of the Calvary bookstore, as well as working alongside Dan to establish the School of Ministry.

In March of 2014, God began to move upon Dan’s heart to begin the process of making the move back to Scotland. After three years of planning and preparing, the call has been answered. Samuel, their son, now 25, has come with them to assist in this new work. His background has been as student-leader in Calvary Houston’s youth ministry and also a member of their worship team.

It is Dan, Angela, and Samuel’s calling and desire to be used by God to see His word spread throughout Stirling and the rest of Scotland with the hopes of revival coming to a nation, which was once a citadel of faith.

Acts 19:20“So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.”
